The bloomtrigger 'pilot' project is now complete! We recently successfully completed our pilot project in 5 UK primary schools, raising £5000, to plant 10,000 blooms, which will help to protect 50 hectares of rainforest in the Peruvian Amazon. We are now ready to scale up Bloomtrigger’s model! Our next target is to help protect 100 hectares of rainforest and to expand our grassroots network of individuals, businesses and schools. Ultimately our goal is to raise £100M to protect 1 million hectares of forest worldwide.

Our 'bloom reward' strategy for primary schools...
The flow diagram below shows in 4 simple steps how our 'bloom reward' strategy enables primary school children to help protect their own part of the rainforest.

| Step 1. |
|
Businesses and individuals go to bloomtrigger.com and buy blooms to donate to a primary school. Business can also give blooms to their employees and customers to enable them to protect their own part of the rainforest by planting the blooms on the map. |
| Step 2. |
|
The teacher introduces the topic of rainforests, teaching the children about the causes of deforestation and the solutions, offering them a way to protect the forest by becoming a part of ‘the bloomtrigger project’. Each child is required to paint a self-portrait which becomes their profile image for ‘the bloomtrigger project’. |
| Step 3. |
|
The teacher awards blooms to the children for the effort they put into school, e.g. good behaviour, homework, switching off a light, etc… Exactly how and when the blooms are handed out will be left to the teachers to decide. |
| Step 4. |
|
The children can then plant their blooms on to the map of the rainforest in Peru. Each image equals one bloom, which will protect 50m2 of rainforest. The more blooms the children plant the bigger their share of the rainforest. The children can show people their part of the rainforest as well as the business or individual who invested the blooms. |

Beginning with schools - Starting small, thinking BIG…
As a startup organisation our targets to protect rainforest are ambitious and although the potential audience for the bloomtrigger project is vast, we plan to start small, focusing on our primary school strategy as an ideal place to establish bloomtrigger’s credibility and lay the foundations for growth. We believe this is the most important place to begin, with the youngest generation, as they have the biggest stake invested in our future. Establishing the bloomtrigger project in schools is the first phase of our strategy to protect 1 million hectares of rainforest.
